Welcome to the Solid Ground Coffee House and the Solid Ground Farm!
Kevin, Mary, Daniel, and David Swanzey are a Christian homesteading family that, for over 15 years has focused on raising and maintaining healthy foods for consumption due to various health/immune system issues. Over 25 years ago my wife and I had a desire to open a Christian coffeehouse (even before we were married or knew each other). Yet as we made plans in our heart, God directed our steps (Proverbs 16:9). God had other plans He wanted to see fulfilled before our dreams were fulfilled.
And that is ok. That is part of what following and giving your life to Jesus is all about. God always has to come first.
Solid Ground Coffee House is run by Solid Ground Ministries registered as a 508c1(a) non-profit ministry. Our desire is to share the good news of Jesus Christ with you. We want to make the coffeehouse available for small Bible study groups, events, and for Christian organizations to be given the opportunity to meet in a hospitable place. We bring in musicians and otherwise gifted Christians to share their gifts and talents with our community. We desire to bring people who can teach how to study, read, and listen to the Bible.
The coffeehouse is not planning to be your standard open from 7am-7pm ‘coffee shop’. Due to limited seating (70-75), plan on making a reservation for special events by calling us or going on our website. For now, we will be open primarily on Friday and Saturday nights, and every other week. Please be patient with us as we work through the booking of future events. If you are interested in hosting a Christian event here, please let us know … we will do everything we can to accommodate you.
Feel free to ask us any questions you may have! We look forward not only to serve you with some of the best desserts, coffee, teas, and gluten free desserts, but more importantly to share with you who Jesus is. Don’t you owe it to yourself and your family to know more about who Jesus really is and what He has done for you?
“I waited patiently for the LORD to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the LORD. “
